We have some fun traditions that we do for General Conference. It especially makes me want to be a better mom and wife, which only strengthens my family! It’s the BEST!! If you would love to take a peek at this General Conference that we love so much, you can click here. For me personally, I always feel empowered to get up the next day and to be better, to try harder and to be the best person I can be. But, when we are strengthened…our families are strengthened as well. (She’s the best, isn’t she?) □ General Conference is April 2-3 and as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we love it because it gives us hope, we are reminded of some AWESOME things and we are strengthened in ways that are hard to explain. Hey everyone, it’s Veronica! I’m so excited to be here RIGHT before LDS General Conference! What is General Conference? Mariel always explains things best, so click here to learn more. Just click on the image below to download the pdf file. With LDS General Conference fast-approaching, it’s time to think about ways to keep the family interested! Veronica has created a packet for teens to get them listening more and sleeping less during the talks. You can attach it to a candy bar or other gift ideas that you might have for next year. Here is a Happy Birthday card freebie for you to use in your Young Women's organization. Have them fill in the backside about what they did or testimony about that value and bring the bottom ticket part to church for a treat! You can encourage the girls to work on one Personal Progress value for the month. On the front has the value scripture and the backside has a journal space. I made some Personal Progress Ticket Treat cards that you can use each month as you focus on one of the values. This complete kit is available in my Etsy Shop. This would be a great image for all the youth to help them remember the theme and remind them of all the ways they can use their phone to strength their testimony. You'll catch a glimpse of the girl in the video above looking at her phone which inspired my second sketch. I was asked about doing an image for both young women and young men so I came up with the hand holding the cell phone. I thought about what she might be praying for and so I drew a thinking bubble, added the year scripture theme and drew some icons that would symbolize what she might be praying for. Once I finished it, I was trying to figure out what to put in the background. I grabbed a pencil, paper and started to sketch a girl sitting on a bench praying. I love this movie and decided to use it for my inspiration behind some materials to help the youth. As I was pondering on what I could come up with to help the youth focus on "asking of God," I watched this video called "Origin." In a world where right is considered wrong and wrong is right, there is a tremendous need for not only the young people but for everyone to seek truth from God. I have always loved that scripture and while serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I was able to share that with the Puerto Rican people daily. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed." But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. It comes from James 1:5-6 which says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him him of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not and it shall be given him. I am really excited about next year's theme for the young men and young women.
